Canada-based Tailscale announced on Tuesday that it has raised $160 million in Series C funding for its secure networking platform.
The investment, which brings the total raised by the company to $275 million, was led by Amit Kumar of venture capital firm Accel, with participation from CRV, Heavybit, Insight Partners, Uncork Capital, and angel investors George Kurtz (CEO of Crowdstrike) and Anthony Casalena (CEO of Squarespace).
The funding will be used for product innovation, global expansion, and for the growth of engineering, sales and product teams.
Tailscale has developed a platform that enables reliable, seamless and secure connectivity for applications, devices and environments. The solution is advertised for DevOps, IT and security teams.
The platform enables security teams to secure users, devices, and workloads, and helps organizations strengthen their security posture through capabilities such as just-in-time access, EDR integrations, and zero trust.
Tailscale’s solution has been used in industries such as healthcare, finance, government, manufacturing, IoT, software development, and AI.
In the case of AI, the company says its platform is used to securely connect distributed workloads, including by Cohere, Groq, Perplexity, Mistral, and Hugging Face.
